After the awesome boat trip from Dana Point, CA, Roberta and I spent a night with her daughter, son-in-law, and grand children north of L.A. and then headed to my cousin’s in San Jose.

Roberta safely boarded her plane back to HI and I spent the rest of the weekend enjoying time with my cousin and some members of his family, meeting some of his motorcycle buddies at a BBQ restaurant get together for cycling lovers, and getting to know San Jose, California.

I took a 3-day workshop in San Francisco where I met some awesome people, did a lot of dancing, sold some Dancing Dolphin Sacred Healing Oils & Mists, and got to spend time with the fabulous PJ Van Hulle. She and I have known each other for years, but it was the first time meeting in person.

After spending all this time on a sacred adventure with spiritual teachers, healers, channels, coaches, and friends, I headed into the much more physical realm and hung out with an old friend named Joe, that once upon a time I thought I might marry.

We had a blast in Costa Mesa, California. Joe provided great food, fun friends, and a lovely home. I greatly enjoyed getting to know his new girlfriend and her cute little white dogs.

I had my first experience being in a sail boat race. Ropes and people moving at high speed as the boom came flying around to steer us in a new direction. I’m sure there is a more nautical term for “boom.” I climbed for dear life from one side of the boat to the other, carefully avoiding the moving ropes and people, trying not to slip or get knocked into the water. Then hanging my feet out over the side as the wind and sail laid her sideways in the water – as if my weight would make any difference whatsoever in what the boat was going to do. hahaha. It was a ton of work and involved lots of adrenaline. I could see the appeal for those who love competition and a good adrenaline rush. I think I would have to learn a lot before I would find it fun however.

Afterwards Joe asked me if I’d ever been in a sailboat race before. My response was, “I’ve never even been on a sailboat before.” It was quite an initiation into that world. Luckily all I had to show for it was a couple of scraped up knees.

I had gone to Newport Beach one day while Joe was at work. I found that I didn’t like it nearly as much as my beloved Moonlight or Swami beaches in Encinitas further down the California coast. I longed for the loving embrace of the tranquil hillsides, the lush plant life, the breathtaking vistas, and the laid back lifestyle of the people there.

I spent the next three days on Joe’s sailboat with he and his friends, coming and going from San Diego Yacht Club. It was a different boat than the racing one we had been on previously at Newport Beach.

Have a deLightful day,
