Business Links

I’ve been earning my living through the internet since before the year 2000. It took awhile to really understand and benefit from what is, to many, a completely new and foreign territory. With html, blogs, autoresponders, search engines, affiliate marketing, web 2.0, and such, it requires learning a whole new language.

I’ve compiled a list of some of the most important things you need to know to get started.

Success begins on the inside

Once you feel worthy, self confident, and successful within, and you fully understand how the manifestation process works, then it’s easier to create business success. Many of my products and programs help people step into their true magnificence, become more empowered, and achieve their highest potential.

The Internet Basics:

You have to start with:

  • a product to sell that people desire – if you try to sell something no-one is interested in, then you can’t win the internet game
  • a website – you have to pick and register a domain name and find a good web hosting company
  • qualified traffic – lots of visitors to your site who are actively looking for what it is that you are selling
  • A great sales page – if visitors don’t “buy now” then you will probably never see them again.

And that is just the beginning. You have to automate everything you can, deliver your product or service promptly, offer prompt and friendly customer service, figure out what to back sell to existing customers, stay in touch with customers, update and freshen your website. It is an ever evolving process. The site is never done – it is just always being upgraded.

1. A Product to Sell that People Desire

The professionals begin at Overture, search for what people are looking for, and build their entire website around that information. I can’t remember where I learned this, but it is the best description I’ve ever heard. Would you rather set up your store in the middle of a corn field or would you like to be on 5th Avenue Manhatten? We are talking about traffic. There is no one visiting the corn field, but a million people walk down 5th Avenue. You have to put your website in the middle of that traffic stream. How do you do that? You find out what people are surfing for and how much competition there is in that marketplace, and using all the tools of the trade – take over the market.

Just click this link Search Tool at Overture and type in a potential keyword that you think people might be searching for. It will bring back all searches for that word in the previous month as well as the additional keywords used with that one.

To see what the top searches are on the web right now, visit Wordtracker.

Many people choose their domain name based on the keywords they want people to find them under.

Once you have decided on a product and a domain name.

2. Here’s What You’ll Need for Your Web Site.

First and foremost is a reliable web hosting service.

You have to be able to accept credit cards. I use Paypal. They are well established world wide and require no monthly fee. I’ve been using them for 10 years now and am still very pleased with their service.

Accept credit cards on line. You don’t even need a web site. It works just as well from emails you send out. We have accepted credit cards through paypal for over 6 years. We are extremely pleased with their service and the ability to accept echecks, credit cards, debit cards, etc. without monthly maintenance fees.

You need an autoresponder. Get people to sign up for your newsletter, download a free report, etc. and capture the names. Follow up with a newsletter or new promotions. This is one of the best companies in the autoresponder business.

Aweber is the autoresponse program I use for my newsletter and to broadcast my blog updates. Its the best service and the best price I’ve found. Highly recommended.

3. Get Qualified Traffic

There are lots of ways to get traffic. Here are just a few:

  • Search Engines
  • Pay Per Click
  • Ezine Advertising
  • Joint Ventures
  • Affiliates who promote for you
  • Banner Advertising
  • Email Advertising
  • Free Ads
  • Press Releases
  • Get Articles Published
  • Newsletter to your subscribers
  • Link Exchanges

And you can’t just use one of the above techniques, you need to incorporate most of them.

4. A Great Sales Page
