How to Discern Charlatans From Real Healers & Teachers

Someone asked how to discern between false, corrupt, selfish (low vibration, fake, focused primarily on money and their own opinion) teachers, healers, etc. and those who are genuine, heart-based, selfless (high vibration, focused primarily on the transformation of the client or student, deep listeners, seemingly miraculous healers).

Beyond the illusions created by slick brochures and emotional marketing tricks that get you every time, there is truth about who the real healers are. The more finely tuned you become to energy and the more you know about marketing, the easier it is to know instantly who is and is not authentic.

Those with the largest audience, who are the most well known and financially successful, are not necessarily the best spiritual teachers or healing practitioners. They are simply the ones who have become excellent at marketing … or they have paid a great marketing team. There are exceptions, of course. But,  as I’ve said before … energy doesn’t lie.

When you focus on yourself and the Trifecta of TransformationTM, it becomes easier and easier to discern truth from illusion.

“How does it feel?” needs to become your mantra.”

How does it feel to be around this person? Is it uplifting? Is it playful? Is it joyful? Do you feel better, uplifted, less stressed, lighter (energetically) after spending time with them, reading their articles, watching their videos, or hearing them speak? Real Healers will always make you feel something positive after you’ve been with them.

Or do they leave you feeling a little “off,” afraid (fear based marketing is a powerful thing), doubting yourself, or confused? Sadly, many charlatans speak just enough truth for you to believe they are wise, but it is often clouded by words that bring up fear, both consciously and subconsciously, and make you doubt yourself. Those who are truly pros at manipulation can make you feel that you are so small (unwise, lacking in something, always needing them or needing to depend on them) and that they are so great.

I’ve always said that when you are around someone who causes chaos, confusion, and self doubt … run! And, trust me, we are all susceptible.

I was very close friends with a woman who seemed to be magical, loving, and kind. After 10 years of frequent phone calls, there was a sudden turn and her true colors began to show. She lashed out at me, blasting me with a massive amount of negative energy. It took a few days to fix my energy field and get “right” again.

As I reflected back on some of the conversations we’d had over the years, I realized that over and over again, in the most subtle, hidden ways, she had said things that caused me to doubt myself … and continue to think of her as wiser or better than me somehow.

I think the Universe often for that explosive moment that spun her out of my life.

You simply can’t accomplish what you are here to accomplish if people in your life (including healers, teachers, coaches, romantic partners, etc.) are undermining you and making you feel you are not enough.

Some do it overtly. Some do it covertly. Either way, the result is the same.

You need to work with people who help you step into your true magnificence, feel more confident, empowered, sure of yourself, and lift you up. You want to work with people that help you find your unique voice and expression in the world.

Your greatest superpower is your intuition.

A Few Way to Get More In Tune So You Can Discern the Real Healers

  • Activate and enhance your intuitive abilities.
  • Raise your vibration.
  • Spend time in silence in nature.
  • Meditate in deep theta every single day.
  • Clear your energy on a regular basis.

And study marketing. Read Influence by Robert Caldini or any number of other books about marketing.

What’s the best way I’ve found to choose products, programs, or healers/readers?

… by COMPLETELY IGNORING all of the sales copy (words on the page, brochure, words they say, etc.). I don’t read any of it … because I know how persuasive words can be. I “tune in” or dowse about the benefit or detriment to me or my business to participate in this event, buy this product, or read this book. Being super claircognizant, I often simply “know” when something is for me.

Let your inner guidance lead you to the people, places, and programs that can help you the most.
