Water is Sacred
I’ve felt that water is sacred for as long as I can remember.
Over the years, the depth of that knowing has become more and more pronounced.
Few things in life are more soothing to my mind, body, and soul than to sit near water. The sound of water tumbling over rocks in a stream, a waterfall, or the ocean kissing the sand … these are the sounds that I can listen to for hours upon hours.
I first heard the call to take a more active role with water back in 1998. I had heard about the U.S. military using LFAS (low frequency active sonar) and the devastation it created to all marine life. I wondered what we as individuals could do to assist the cetaceans and other marine life, as well as the water itself.
The result of that wondering culminated in a channeling that happened at precisely 4:00 am one morning in early September. I woke up with the words to a global water healing meditation that also connected participants to dolphin and whale consciousness. Etheric dolphins had already connected to me through vision. And I was already infusing their healing energies into elixirs that later became known as Dancing Dolphin Essences.
I was intuitively guided to share the meditation with as many people as possible, and that the meditation should be done at Fall Equinox that year. One of the people I reached out to suggested I get in touch with famous channel, David J. Adams, from Australia. The person didn’t tell me why I needed to connect with David, only that I should.
He and I corresponded via email, and it was then that I discovered that he, too, had channeled a meditation called The Global Marine Meditation back in 1992. He had people around the world joining in each Equinox.
We sent one another our meditations. There were so many similarities; they obviously came from a similar level of vibration or consciousness. David’s meditation was channeled from beloved Germain. Here in the west, we would call that being St. Germain.
Anyway, we’ve been co-leading these global water healing meditations every Equinox since. This is the 28th year.
Over the years, I’ve become aware of others who heard the call and took up the mantle of being water keepers, water and cetacean protectors, water priestesses, and water healers. I want to take the opportunity to mention a few.
Others Who Feel That Water is Sacred
The first, of course, is David J. Adams. For many years, he has facilitated global water healing through his Global Marine Meditation and been a spokesperson for many beings beyond the veil.
When thinking of water protectors, we have to look to the Native Americans and others who have been fighting to protect our water for ages. Standing Rock is only one example of how intense that protection detail can be.
Water Has Consciousness
One man’s voice has led thousands of people, possibly millions, to look at water and the role it plays in a different way. That man is Dr. Masaru Emoto.
If you are unfamiliar with his work, Dr. Emoto began taking water from various waterways, freezing it, then taking photos of the various crystals. He also took glasses of water and placed Japanese words on the bottles.
The crystals from “nice” words like love, thank you, and peace were beautiful, symmetrical, and intricate. The crystals from “terrible” words like “I hate you” were barely even crystals. It proved that words are far more powerful than we think. Especially since we are 70 to 80% water (or saline solution).
Water crystals from polluted water were not nearly as beautiful, intricate, or symmetrical as water from pristine sources. Polluted water given specific water healing prayers, also showed dramatic improvement in the water crystals.
The most beautiful water crystals formed when the words “love and gratitude” were placed on the bottles.
Soon after the bestselling book collaboration, Dolphins & Whales Forever, came out, Mary Getten heard “the call” and began holding monthly global water healing meditations. Many of us who wrote a chapter in the book, as well as several others, lead the meditation each month.
I have led the meditation every September for around 10 years. You can listen to the most recent water healing meditation that I led here. Join the mailing list while you are there and tune in each month.
Others who have heard the call and have taken up the mantle of being water healers, keepers, protectors, etc. are Annwyn Avalon and the various water priestesses she has interviewed on Patheos. And also the many that she has personally trained to be caretakers of waterways throughout the world.
I especially love Annwyn’s connection with Dion Fortune, Glastonbury, Avalon, the Chalice Well, and other sacred water sites.
Long before any of us began this work, there were the Priestesses of Delphi who performed sacred rituals to bless the water for healing and balancing. You can read more about that in the delightful book by Suzanne King, Returning Again and Again to Be Here Now.
The water organization (water.org) is a non-profit that helps bring fresh water to millions around the globe.
My friend, Rich German, spearheads the non-profit Project O. They work to restore, protect, and sustain the ocean and its inhabitants.
Mare Cromwell is holding a global “Heart of Water” ceremony on September 20th.
Be sure to join David and I in the global water healing meditations this Equinox
8 pm wherever you are in the world

If you, too, feel that water is sacred and feel the call to do something to support water, visit the various links in the article and get involved. The more of us who carry the mantle of water protector, water keeper, water healer, etc., the more real change can happen.
