Spiritual Imposters and Energy Vampires
Energy vampires and spiritual imposters are far too commonplace … and far too many spiritual seekers seem naive and completely unaware.
Having been part of the New Age, spiritual, energy healing, shamanic crowd for over 30 years, going to the big shows where many, if not all, of the most well-known people congregate, and running a shamanic healing center in Santa Fe for nearly a decade, I met a lot of “names” in that arena.
I’m also friends with several of them. Others, I know their assistants or co-authors, etc.
Sadly, with a lot of that behind-the-scenes knowledge, I know of so many well-known teachers, healers, authors, etc. who are wonderful on stage or in class and horror stories behind the scenes. Others are simply not who they appear to be … they don’t actually write their own books, it’s all for the money. Narcissists, energy vampires, manipulators of both energy and words.
And for empaths, it can be a disaster to have anything to do with energy vampires or spiritual imposter. I was literally suicidal after becoming business partners with one of them. Thousands of people loved and almost worshipped her.
So many people were downright devastated when someone like Doreen Virtue turned her back on all the things she’d made millions of dollars off of … the things she’d been writing and teaching. Or when they found out that Deepak Chopra’s name was in certain files thousands of times.
To someone who tunes in to energy, those revelations were not surprising. I heard Doreen’s voice once on an audio tape. I “knew” immediately that something wasn’t quite right there, and avoided her and her work ever since that time.
The only true way to tell, in my opinion, is to feel or read the energy.
I had a “bad feeling” when I first met this woman, but overrode my initial feeling/thoughts about her, thinking I was being judgmental. I had to learn the hard way that energy doesn’t lie.
Thankfully, that was decades ago, and I’ve learned a lot since then. I can typically sense it now from across the room or from a photo.
There are lots of well-known authors and teachers I avoid completely.
Darkness is often shrouded in light. The teachings, the words, the exercises they have you do … some of it is really not a good idea.
For me, the best answer is distance. Just avoid them if at all possible.
In private sessions, I’ve seen all sorts of things in and on people. Rather than simple individual cords, I’ve seen (and facilitated the removal of) whole nets that seem to encase a person.
Having Archangel Michael wield his sword and remove all cords, attachments, and other mayhem that some of these people use can be very useful. I see him taking his sword and touching a cord; it lights up and begins to dissolve.
Cloaking is a good idea. I often ask to be cloaked before doing such things. When an energy vampire is feeding off someone, they often know instantly when the tie is severed. Sometimes the phone will ring within minutes of a cord or other device being disconnected or removed from them.
I was facilitating a session for a lovely friend of mine and she had all sorts of cords with her mother. I said we could remove them, and she said, “absolutely not.” That her mom would know instantly and she would be attacked even worse than what she was already dealing with.
There are endless ways to protect a person from an energy vampire or spiritual imposter, but I find that it’s best to sever the energetic ties first.
Also, if you send enough unconditional love to an energy vampire or other manipulator, they often disconnect and “spin out” (of your life) on their own.
I like the little chant “I forgive everyone for everything,” because in some cases, our judgment of them keeps the ties in place.
Learning to pendulum dowse and enhancing your intuition are vitally important when it comes to dealing with these people. Otherwise, you just assume that the information they share is correct and that they are who they say or act like they are. When all the while, they could be stealing your energy or manipulating you in some other way.
If something (or someone) doesn’t feel quite right, I’ll use a benefit/detriment chart and sometimes a level of consciousness chart to dowse about the person I’ve encountered. “What’s the benefit or detriment of me spending time with this person?” is a great question to ask.
There are many more ways to ask questions and receive intuitive answers.
Dowse the percentage of truth in the books you are thinking of reading. Or, the books you’ve already read by this person you’ve decided to follow and trust.
I find it’s best to never attend a class, read a book, etc. (when it’s related to spirituality, energy healing, etc.) unless specifically guided to. There is too much opportunity for false/negative information or energy to be presented in with the good. The risk is too great to take in the information and then not be able to discern the truth from the falsehood. When it’s in writing or spoken by some perceived authority figure, we tend to believe it wholeheartedly. And then, we are stuck with the information as a new (potentially false) paradigm or belief system that we begin operating under.
When your goal is toward ascension, raising your vibration, and living in the light, these things matter.
