Get Happier! Simple Daily Actions to Increase Your Happiness

Isabel(c) Isobel Phillips

Once I’d learned that I could choose to be happy whatever was happening around me, it made me feel so much more powerful instead of a rather pathetic victim of whatever life happened to throw my way. My new-found strength didn’t last long though – the next “negative” event knocked me back. Not quite as far as before, but I realized that I hadn’t fully developed a habit of happiness. So that’s what I set out to do – to make happiness an inevitable result of actions I chose to take every day.

Attitude

A positive, happy attitude doesn’t “just happen”. It’s something we choose or not, consciously or not. At some point today you decided just how happy you were going to be – maybe when you dragged yourself out of bed this morning or when you were singing in the shower. Unless you consciously choose to be happy first, to feel good and look for things during your day that uplift you, you’re leaving your happiness to chance. And even worse, you’re leaving it in someone or something else’s power.

I think you’re worth more than that – don’t you? I know I am!

My day starts with the decision I make when I wake up, that this is going to be a great day. I run through the day in my mind, visualizing myself at my desk, out shopping, with friends – whatever I have planned. And I see myself smiling, relaxed, happy.

I’m not saying I never get knocked off course – but I aim to go back to the morning’s vision that this can be a good day and it’s up to me to make it so.

Appreciation

Not “gratitude” – that smacks of subservience to me. But an open-hearted, true appreciation of everything in my life. Yes, even the things I don’t like so much – they all serve a purpose. Every morning I sit with my first cup of coffee, if possible outside under the olive tree, and write as long a list as I can come up with of things to be thankful for. Some things repeat from day to day, others are one-offs or I suddenly become aware of them.

My list includes obvious things like my health, friends and relationships, the glorious blue sky I see almost every day and slightly less obviously, the stray cats who snooze contentedly in the sun even though they have no idea where their next meal is coming from. I count my blessings and I also count the things that I’m happy not to have in my life 🙂

I get extra points for actually telling people I care about that I appreciate and value them.

Structure

This probably seems odd coming from someone who almost has an anxiety attack at the thought of making an appointment! I hate being confined or tied down to a time and place but I’ve found that having a simple structure to my day helps me be more creative and focused.  And thanks to a brilliant article by Catherine Cain on The Intelligent Use of Constraints I now kind of understand why.

I have a spreadsheet with a list of items I want to do every day in the first column and 28 – 31 little boxes next to each one (one for each day of the month). The game is to put an X in every box. I don’t manage to fill all the boxes, but some do get the magic X every single day (writing is one of them) and I get a sense of purpose and a record of how I spend my time.

Friendz

I used to be a hermit. I lived almost entirely on-line and barely interacted with real people face-to-face. I’m still a happy loner but I’ve also learned the value of friends. All kinds of friends. Elderly ex-pats at a social club I help to run, friends I go out drinking and socializing with, friends I have deep, meaningful conversations with and friends I can sit with on the beach in a totally relaxed silence. And sometimes they’re all the same person!

My daily action is to make a point of speaking to at least one friend every day, even for a few minutes. It gets me out of my own head and reconnects me with the rest of the world.

Self Care

Something else I was never that good at. I had many days of internet burnout where I dozed in my office chair, played games all night and lived on burgers and sticky buns. My total lack of self care almost drove me to a nervous break-down and it was a major reason behind the “how I destroyed my business” collapse of my business.

Now self care is built into my day and my week. I have one full day off every week, when I do no work at all and get away from the computer as much as possible. Daily – I make sure I have my first cup of coffee in peace and quiet and in the garden if possible. I eat three times a day; not at fixed times but not at my desk either. In the summer (which means temperatures of up to 50C here) I get up very early, around 5:30, and take a nap in the middle of the day. I drink a lot of water – because it makes me more alert. And at least once an hour I get up and move around – usually the amount of water I drink makes that a necessity anyway 🙂

Stories

We all have them – the things we “know” are true about ourselves like “I’m no good at sports”, “I can’t spell”, “I’m no good at making friends”, “I’m a night owl”, “I’m always late”. They go on and on and on .. and they’re all lies!

We are whatever we choose to be. If we want to play a sport, we can practise and improve; if spelling is difficult, we can read more and make sure we have spell-check available. I used to say I was a night owl until I had to catch the 6:30am bus to London every day, or be hauled over the coals by the CEO who lived a 10 minute walk away.

It was part of my personality and a bit of a joke, I thought, that I was always late – until I started teaching. If I didn’t get to college 15 minutes before the start of my first class, I was totally unprepared to take the lesson – and when you teach teenagers, that’s not something you can afford to be. If I was late getting to a class, I walked into a riot. So I learned to get up early and be on time.

Beliefs are just stories we tell ourselves over and over again, until we believe them. The only power they have over us is that we believe them – they’re not “real”.

One of my daily rituals is to choose a belief or a story and deliberate “destroy” (or destory) it in my mind. Sometimes even physically, by writing it on a piece of paper and burning it. The “night owl” and the “always late” stories died a long time ago, but I still have a few hanging around.

Other times I might use affirmations that are the opposite of the unwanted story I’m telling and that’s what I’ve been doing with one of the more enduring ones: “I’m not good with money” became “I love money and it serves me well”.  So far in the last 6 months I’ve paid for a trip back to the UK for my nephew’s wedding and bought a new laptop, so the old story has taken a bit of a beating 🙂

How do you create the kind of day that you want? I’m always looking for new ways to support my choice to be happy 🙂

Isobel used to have a 4-hour daily commute to a high-powered job she hated and come home to an empty life. Now she lives in a beautiful villa overlooking the Red Sea, has a social life she can barely keep up with, works as and when she wants and is in a wonderful relationship with the love of her life. At age 50, she created a vision for her life and then she became it. She would love you to join her in stepping into the vision you have for your life. She also believes that life should be fun. Intent… what is all the buzz on “intent” anyway?

diane mickelson(c) Diane Mickelson

First of all we need to get on the same page…. What is the heck is intent anyway? Intent is the planning and desire to perform an act; it is something that is an aim or purpose; it is firmly fixed, concentrated, having the attention applied, engrossed; it is having the mind and will focused on a specific purpose. As a noun intent has an anticipated outcome that is intended or that guides your planned actions, “his intent was to provide a new translation”, “good intentions are not enough”. Some adjectives of intent are: absorbed, focused, fixed, earnest, committed, concentrated, occupied, intense, fascinated, steady, alert, attentive, watchful, etc.

How do you “do” intent? It depends on what you feel is right for you. Sometimes I hold an intention so close to my heart that I think I emit this desperate vibration of lack so when I let it go in a Buddhist way of detaching from it, or lose the neediness of craving for it, it comes much easier. (Perhaps – trying too hard, huh?) But on the other hand if it is with me all day long as a given, it does speed the process along. In any way the feeling of certainty that it is already there for you – is the one “thought” you are looking for. When you know you are getting it 100%. You do not question or manage how or when, sometimes the universe has its little jokes on how you are presented what you want, but a sense of humor is never an unwanted trait. Chose what feels good for you. Experiment. See what happens…

This all seems simple and unrealistic, doesn’t it? The truth of the matter is that you can have anything that you want by simply intending to have it. Let’s start with the basics of using the intending technique, and learn why it is so powerful

Anything that you ever do in the world, at least while you are conscious, is done by you first intending to do that thing. Human beings are creatures with complete control over our bodies and we decide what happens and what doesn’t. Obviously and thankfully, this does not apply to things like breathing, controlling the operation of our internal organs, and other autonomic processes.

For now, let’s just agree that if we decide to stand up, sit down, write a letter, drink a beverage, go for a bike ride, buy a cup of coffee, eat a pizza, take a nap, etc. that all of these things would be done because we made a conscious decision to do them – we intended for them to happen.

Pretty easy to follow, huh? So if one can intend to do pretty much anything that we can imagine, and successfully pull it off, why aren’t we rich? Why don’t we intend to have perfect health? Why don’t we intend to have a satisfying personal life? Well, we can. But since we haven’t seen this amazing power of intention do anything other than allow us to control our day to day life; we have trouble believing that it is capable of so much more than that. That is the trouble, we don’t believe it, and so we can’t see it in our mind’s eye that anything is possible by simply intending for it to happen. So if that is the case, perhaps we need to train ourselves to believe in the power of intention by practicing it. We are already very good at this, so let’s take it to another level.

So let’s pick seven things that we know with 100% confidence that we can do, but we don’t already do on a consistent basis. Here are a few examples, although you all should be able to come up with the ideas that are appropriate to your own situation. Also, these should be things that can be done over short-term…one day. The idea here is to train yourself to believe that you can wield this incredible power of intention.

I intend to leave the house at a specific time today and not early or late. I intend to have a smile for each person I see today. I intend to stay caught up on my email all day today. I intend to get outside for at least 30 minutes today to get some fresh air. I intend to think about something that makes me happy during my walk today. I intend to show gratitude to Loren and my kids today. I intend to get to bed by 11 tonight and get at least 5 hours of sleep. See, all intentions… are you starting to see the point of this exercise? None of these things are very difficult, and none of them are very time consuming. In fact, most of them will not take much time at all. However, each of them represent something that I normally don’t accomplish on a consistent basis…

Forget for a moment the positive impact that actually doing those things will have on me, the point of the exercise is for me to intend for all of those things to happen and then to follow through with that intention. By doing so, I have proven to myself that I have the power, with little or no time expenditure to do things that I otherwise may have put off. By intending to do those things, and then following through on that intention, I have started to develop confidence in my abilities to control my life and to make things happen simply by intending for them to happen and then doing them.

Now that training is over, let’s move onto something bigger. Intend to not raise your voice at home for 5 days straight. Intend to watch 30 minutes less of TV for those same 5 days. Intend to get up 10 minutes earlier for each of those 5 days. Intend to compliment someone for 5 days in a row. Intend to drink 1 cup less of coffee (soda, etc) each of those 5 days. Now assess what you have accomplished in just 5 days. Between getting up only marginally earlier and by just partially limiting your TV time, you have added 200 minutes to your life that you can do whatever you want to do with. You have become a more pleasant person to be around at home. You friends and family love all the compliments that you have been showering them with. You have eliminated 5 cups of caffeine from your diet. You accomplished all of that in just 5 days!!! If you can do all of that in just 5 days, imagine what you can do by using the power of intention to gain wealth, overcome personal limitations or simply enjoy your life to the fullest. Practice it every day, every week, every month, and every year. You can literally accomplish anything that you can imagine by simply intending for it to happen. The power is limitless, as is what you intend to do with it. It all starts with intention… followed by the “do” part. Intention without the “do” is nothing….

By the way, just a few minutes ago, you intended to read this, now look what you did… you followed through with the “do”…. good for you. Now I intend to get that 1 cup of coffee I planned for today. Thanks for joining in…. what do you intend? Oh, by the way, let’s try our hardest not to spoil the word intend by making it into a kleenex word… over-using it to the point that it has no meaning… right now it is an extremely powerful word – intent… I like the way it rolls off my tongue… now for coffee….

Energy Healing, Psychic Readings, Akashic Records, Seed of Divine Restoration

A client recently sent me a series of questions. These are my response:

Question: How does the Seed of Divine Restoration compare to an Akashic Record Reading

Hello Dear One:

DeLightful to hear from you.

“Readings” and “healing” are definitely not the same. The Seed of Divine Restoration offers profound energies for a complete life transformation.

I consider most “readings” mindless entertainment and some are even potentially harmful. However, if you are facing a serious issue that you have tried everything in the world to fix with no result, sometimes in a private session with a gifted healer, a past life regression is called for. In that case, understanding the memory (or metaphor) of the experience can often shed light on the current issue and allow it be healed more easily. Readings address none of this.

A reading is typically done by a person with some psychic skill reading into the psychic realm as it relates to you. The reading is often tainted by the beliefs, fears, judgments, and expectations of the “reader.” A reader’s level of consciousness and awareness greatly influences what they can and cannot read about another. And, if they are having an “off” day – meaning they are upset or out of balance in some way – it will definitely affect their ability to “read.” The same is true of healer’s abilities as well. Those who can get out of the way completely, and let higher wisdom come through, are truly a gift to humanity.

Don’t get me wrong . . . there are definitely individuals who are truly gifted, clear, and at a high level of consciousness and awareness. A reading with a person like that can have profound beneficial influence on your life. Sadly, not everyone is “reading” from that place.

Also, any “reading” that relates to what is happening with you right now is subject to change if even one new decision is made or new event happens in your life. So as soon as the reading is finished, its already quickly becoming obsolete.

I mentioned that they can be dangerous. The human mind is a very powerful thing. If a reader tells you that something “negative” is going to happen, even if that isn’t the truth, your worry about the thing can indeed cause it to happen. Because a reader is able to get information that you can not, it is human nature to believe them and give their words more value – even if what they said was not the truth. Even if you consciously discard the words thinking they don’t sound right or “feel” right, your subconscious mind has already heard them. It is for that reason that I avoid readings – and always have.

On very rare occasion, if I am specifically Divinely guided to do so, I will have a reading done. I have had maybe 3 to 5 my entire life. And truthfully, I barely remember them at the moment. Typically its one word or one concept that I needed to hear and that’s it.

You specifically asked about akashic readings. The akashic records are about earth’s past. If you are feeling “inspired” to have one done, then definitely do so. You can read more about them here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akashic_records

That is not what the “Seed” is all about. The Seed of Divine Restoration is one of my spiritual gifts. It was revealed to me “directly” while on a vision quest high in the mountains of New Mexico. I did not learn it from someone else. Nor can I teach it to another.

Question: I was wondering about vibrational energy. Specifically about everything having its own vibration.

We are all unique in the Universe. Just as our thumb print is unique, the very specific vibration we have is also unique. Different species have their own unique vibration (tone). Within each species, each individual has a unique vibration that falls within the range of that particular species overall tone.

Question: I believe that if someone truly wants to heal themselves that that can.

I believe in miracles and I have seen them happen. Its a tricky area however. What a person believes, or what they say they believe, is coming from their conscious mind – which science has now proven is less than 20% of the mind and therefore less than 20% of what matters. When we read something and think about it and then say, “Yes, I believe that,” we are doing that with our conscious mind. We have not taken into account the subconscious mind which has fears, beliefs, judgments, and expectations that our conscious mind is not even aware of. Some of those fears and  false beliefs are passed down from our ancestors through DNA. Some we pick up as small children as we experience this new world we find ourselves in. Others actually come from previous incarnations. So, saying “I believe this” is not actually true in most cases. We may have embraced it with our conscious mind, but the subconscious mind may believe something else entirely. That is where the real work is – addressing those hidden “truths” about who we are and what we truly believe – deep down in the shadows of our subconscious mind. That is much of what I help people address.

If we truly believed and understood who we are in relation to being human and in relation to our Divine heritage, then we would not be sick, we would not die, we would not experience poverty or disharmonious relationships or any of the nonsense we all experience here. Our only limitations are our beliefs. Sin is “wrong thinking” and that is what we are learning here in the classroom called earth.

It is a rare individual that can believe on all levels that they can heal themselves. I have done it. But I was not “healing myself.” I had been Divinely inspired to visualize golden orbs of light and to place them on a particular part of my body. And I in no way felt “I” was healing myself. I felt I had the help of the entire Universe.

Jesus made a statement about “Where 2 or more are gathered.” Most miracles seem to happen when a person has asked for help from another, they believe the person truly can help them, and the person they have asked trusts their Divine inspiration (intuitive hunches) when it comes to healing.  Most of the healing I have seen and heard about has happened in this way.

Question: Most people feel the need to look outside of themselves.

If you consider the consciousness of most people on this planet, few have reached 500 on the consciousness scale. We have determined that until a person reaches at least about 450 on the consciousness scale, they really do need outside assistance. I have not looked at why. But I would say it has to do with the subconscious mind that I mentioned previously. A person can only rise in consciousness if they have healed, or at least neutralized, some of those limiting beliefs and fears held subconsciously.

I have found personally that there are things I can address effectively by myself and there are things that I end up needing help from someone else in order to resolve.

Question: I am curious about everything having its own vibration that you have to align with. I assume that includes healthy livers, hearts, bones . . .

What you are really trying to align with is your true Self – what I call the Magnificent Self. The YOU that knows on all levels that you are perfect, healthy, happy, prosperous, etc.

Question: Reiki is one way to heal with energy, but you have no idea how deficient the organ or person is.

Reiki is one system of energy for bringing in Divine Healing Light. It is a great introduction to energy work, but I feel it is lacking in many ways. I often refer to it as “energetic kindergarten.” There is so much more to learn about energy and healing than a person can possibly take in during a workshop for 1 or 2 weekends with a Reiki master.

What Reiki, Chi Kung, and other forms of hands-on healing are doing is bringing in enough healing energy that the person can better align with health. It is not about “adding more energy” to a particular organ as if energy were a supplement. It is about energetically raising up the body – and hopefully the mind – of the individual so that it can access the Truth about itself and let go of the false beliefs and negative energies that keep it stuck in sickness and disease.

Question: Do you have any knowledge of something current or in the works to measure vibration?

There was a device created that measures energy. The designer is dead and the family refuses to give out the technology. I have been unable to ascertain what really happened.

One of my friends has an energy healing product line and she sends everything to europe for testing. I’ve sent her an email to see what the technology is and how to find out more about it. I’ll let you know if I find out anything more.

Struggle, Strife, and the Stinkin’ Thinkin’ that Often Causes It

How much stinkin’ thinkin’ have you been up to lately?

You know what I mean . . .

  • Complaining about the lemons the Universe seems to have sent to you recently,
  • Having an interaction with someone that didn’t go the way you were expecting and obsessing or gossiping about how “wrong” the other person is,
  • Getting all caught up in how you feel victimized by “the system” – whether that be government, your job, or something else,
  • Immediately jumping to conclusions about why someone said or did something that contains a negative opinion about the action or the person, or insists that it was evil forces or some diabolical scheme to keep you down,
  • Saying “I could never,” or “It will never happen,” or “that’s not how life works,” or some other statement that shuts down all the possibilities the Universe is sending your way,
  • Thinking, saying, or doing something that results in you feeling bad,
  • Getting angry or upset about what those people are saying about the politician, political party, religion, or other group you feel aligned with,
  • You get the idea.

Its not easy walking the high road. But it is required if you want to heal your pain, live in joy, have harmonious relationships, achieve your heart-felt desires, or experience enlightenment.

Most people live in struggle.

And then they complain about it . . .

endlessly!

Focusing on what you don’t want only causes more of the same.  If you know anything about the Law of Attraction, you already know that.

Instead of treating the next little disaster in your life like a horrible “bad” thing, why not look at it for what it is – a lesson.  Perhaps you are in the middle of a lesson about learning to flow with life, forgiveness, being kind to others, overcoming fear, staying calm despite your circumstances, letting go of people or situations that disempower you, cause you confusion, regret, or stress.

There are a lot of lessons in the classroom called earth. Every moment of every day is there for you to see who you are and what you believe. Every person you encounter has been very strategically placed in your path for you to experience something. Each one is a gift – not a curse.

Life happens. Hiccups in plans happen. Relationship issues happen. People have bad days, they misinterpret the meaning behind your words, they often see life from their own perspective and it is usually not the same perspective that you hold.

You can blame something or someone for all the struggles in your life – or you can simply realize that life unfolds the way that it does – perfectly. You can perceive situations as being evil and dark. Or you can choose to accept what is and respond calmly to whatever shows up in your life.

I believe that all things happen for a reason. And I also believe that I am Divinely guided in every moment. I trust that when one door closes, another one will open. And the other one is always better than I could have figured out on my own. I try to look at unexpected hiccups in plans as opportunities. And I try to learn from them. What could I do differently next time? What did I learn about myself, someone else, or how life or business works by experiencing this?

The bigger your dreams, the more you have to change and walk the high road. I’m not talking about just embracing new concepts with your logical mind and trying to force new habits of behavior. I’m talking about fundamental permanent shifts physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. You also have to shift octaves vibrationally. If you were already the person you need to become in order to attain your desires, then those desires would already be realized.

There are a few caveats to what I just said – like Divine timing and how to know if a desire is in your highest and best interest, or whether it is simply your ego’s need for recognition, approval, or something else. We’ll save those for next time . . .

Have a deLightful day,

Takara

P.S. One of the fastest ways to get to the root of your issues and raise your vibration is a daily practice of deep meditation. Peering Through the Veil offers insight into numerous forms of meditation and how to make each meditation deeper and more profound.

Fall Equinox and the Turning of the Wheel

Bestselling Author D Takara Shelor(c) Debbie Takara Shelor

Fall Equinox is a special time of year when we celebrate the harvest of all our work through the active season of summer. The seeds planted in the spring – whether actual or metaphorical – are cared for and nurtured all summer long. Then in the fall, we have the opportunity to reap what we have sown.

It is a time of thanksgiving, of sharing our bounty with friends and family.

On the Equinox, we have equal amounts of day and night. It is a balance point. From then until Winter Solstice, we have shorter days and longer nights.

David J. Adams and I celebrate each Equinox with the Golden Water Dolphin Meditation for Planetary Healing and the Global Marine Meditation. People all over the globe join us at 8 p.m. wherever they are.

I am in the United States in the Northern Hemisphere and David is in Australia in the Southern Hemisphere. We are celebrating the north and south regions of the earth, the equality of day and night, the yin and yang of the masculine and feminine, the Spring Equinox in the south and the Fall Equinox in the north. Each of these things are about balance within the earth and within ourselves.

We ask you to join us as we send healing love and light to the dolphins, whales, and waterways of the world. http://bit.ly/DolphinMeditation

Following the Breadcrumbs Sent by the Universe

(c) Debbie Takara Shelor

If you’ve been reading the newsletter for awhile, you know I often talk about the subtle signals the Universe is continuously sending your way. Those signals are what prompt you to take the actions necessary to fulfill your mission and achieve your dreams. If you ask the Universe for what you want, and you don’t take the actions you are “inspired” to take, then its almost a guarantee that your dreams will not manifest.

Enhancing your ability to pick up or “tune in” to the signals is, therefore, of paramount importance.

I do several things that enhance my ability to receive the information, know exactly what to do, and when.

1) Daily Meditation.

Do you meditate every single day?

Is your spiritual practice, your commitment to personal and spiritual growth, at the top of your list of priorities?

If its not, it needs to be.

It is so easy to let life pull you in a million directions and to get off track. You skip a day here and a day there. You go on vacation or on a business trip and forget entirely. Next thing you know, its been a few weeks or even months since you connected with the Source of All.

Instead of beating yourself up, simply start again. Realize that you are human – and that’s O.K. We all are.

The shame and blame game serves no-one – particularly you. Judgment of yourself and others is a huge hindrance to finding the “resonance” necessary to be in flow with the Universe.

Anger, judgment, hatred, blame, shame, guilt, victimhood – these are all excuses for not becoming the truth of who you are – you Magnificent Self.

Stick to your spiritual practice and not only will you be able to understand the messages from the Universe, but you will also be in a significantly better position to help others.

2) Care of Self

Rest, exercise, eat right, drink plenty of water, have some time to yourself, enjoy a hobby.

The more stress in your life, the more vital these actions become.

When you are out of balance, frustrated, exhausted, or confused, it is impossible to make good decisions or “read” properly the signals the Universe sends.

You can’t help another until you have helped yourself. You cannot truly love another until you have truly loved (accepted, appreciated, acknowledged) yourself. You cannot forgive another until you have forgiven yourself.

3) Heal the Emotional Pain from Your Past

The more emotionally wounded you are, the more distortions there are in what you receive. The Universe is saying one thing. But your tainted beliefs, fears, and judgments hear something else.

4) Raise Your Vibration

When you work with energy through tools or assistance such as crystals, light, hands-on healing, Dancing Dolphin Energy Products, you are lifted up into a higher octave – above the trouble, struggle, and chaos that is so prevalent in the third-dimensional experience. These things help you align with the Divine.

5) Pendulum Dowsing

As Walt Wood, former President of the American Society of Dowser’s, says: “A pendulum is a focusing device for mother’s intuition. By dowsing on a routine basis, you are sending out a mantra to the Universe that says, “I want your guidance. Thy will not mine. I need help here. I have faith that I am Divinely guided.”

To learn more about dowsing, I have a fabulous online dowsing course with mutiple bonuses including a phone app.

The more you tune in, receive clear guidance, and act in faith, even when the actions aren’t logical, the more you will experience awe-inspiring moments, synchronicity, and miracles both large and small as a natural state of affairs.

  7. Morning Meditation such a wonderful way to start the day. I need to get back to doing that! Thanks for the reminder.

  8. You are very welcome Tracy. I’ve been starting the day that way for so long, I can’t image doing anything else. Starting the day peaceful, uplifted, and clear makes the whole day go better. Thanks for stopping by.

  9. I was doing good for a while in meditating every day, but I got away from it, just like you said! Now it’s been a while. I think about it and say, “Maybe tomorrow. I don’t have time right now.” I have also experimented with pendulums a bit. Interesting stuff!

  10. I encourage you to “start again.” Its so easy to get caught up in the day to day little disasters and distractions. However, when you meditate routinely, your mind is much more organized and clear making prioritizing your day so much easier. Thanks for stopping by.

  11. Great Tips. I try to meditate daily. Now I just have to implement your other tips.

  12. Such a beautiful article, Takara. Since the New Year, I’ve promised to be good to myself each and every day….do something special…I call it my “me time.” Now I have a few more ideas. Thank you.

  13. This post really resonated for me, especially this line “You can’t help another until you have helped yourself”…absolutely…self care is so critical. Beautiful, beautiful post.

  14. Thanks for sharing – good reminder that being out of balance distorts the messages from the universe!

  15. Great tips…number 3 was especially notable to me as that has been a struggle at times in my life! Thank you!

  16. Used to meditate (almost) daily but I’ve started to slack with the holidays and all.

Good advice perhaps to start doing it again as a resolution for 2013. Thanks for the article, Debbie!

Do You Dare Live Your Dreams?

You have to grow into your dreams.

You can’t achieve your hopes, desires, and goals unless you are willing to take risks, be uncomfortable, learn new things, and follow your inner voice.

Otherwise, you’ll just keep getting the same things you’ve already got.

No one achieves their dreams without moving into what a great little book called the Frogship Perspective terms Zones Unknown.

If you know what you want, then go after it with unwavering tenacity. When one door refuses to open or suddenly closes, try something else and keep your eyes open for the door that is wide open beckoning your entry.

Opportunities are right in front of you all the time. You just have to grow personally and spiritually enough to “register” that they are there. Then you have to muster up the courage to take the plunge or scale the mountain like the woman in the image.

Here’s to your courage!

Have a deLightful day,

Takara

P.S. The Frogship Perspective is a gem of a book by Dean Black. Its full of sage advice with stories that bring the teaching home. I highly recommmend it.
