One Divine Moment is All It Takes by Takara

Just one moment.

That’s all it takes.

To change absolutely everything.

It literally happens in the blinking of an eye.

Just one …

Divine encounter, past life memory, dream, or experience is all it takes to completely blast through the distortion and delusions of the fear-based existence most people live day in and day out.

When a person has that one Divine moment, all the pretense, the falsehood, the fear, the misinterpretation of the words passed down through eons simply falls gently away. It is the rebirth that religions talk about.  I was 14 when it happened to me. I had another similar experience at 33 and now Divine moments are pretty commonplace in my life.

If more people could experience a life transforming Divine moment, there would be no more war. There would be no need for anger or hatred or condemnation. The fear of death would fall away. There would be empathy, compassion, and the desire to assist others rather than make them wrong. There would be only creativity and joy filled living.

Imagine how your life would change if you no longer feared death?

Those moments don’t happen by reading a book, praying, listing to ranting and raving and other emotional manipulations by a speaker. They happen, always, when you least expect them. And they are profound and they change your life forever.

There is no need to discuss whether abortion is or is not “right.” When you have experienced the Divine, you know reincarnation is real. You know you are eternal. You know that you have lived before and will continue on after this body returns to dust. So the whole conversation about abortion is based on a fear-based illusion that this life is all that there is and if you only believe in some savior, you get to move on. The soul coming into the body is as eternal as you are. It can not die. Just like all energy, it can not be destroyed, it can only change form. If it comes into a body that dies – for whatever reason – it simply comes into another body when the timing is right and the situation will suit its needs as an evolving being.

I find it “interesting” that those who are so adamantly against abortion have no problem taking up arms and killing people from another country or faith, killing animals for food, killing period. Yet the book says “thou shalt not kill.”

So which is it?

“For God and country” is a poor excuse to be brutal, unevolved, arrogant, combative, conquering, and territorial – to force your beliefs on others.

I absolutely know what God (what I call the Divine Presence) wants me to do, be, and experience in each moment. Sometimes its easy to live up to those inner promptings. And sometimes it is bloody hard. I have spent the last 20 years fine-tuning my ability to get the message clearly.

I don’t pretend to know what God’s plan is for you. That is between you and God and it is not up to me, some religion, some book, or anything else.

God is love. God heals. God is all knowing, all loving, everywhere and in all things. God does not have favorites and does not care if you are a card carrying member of this or that religion.

In the west, God is worshiped as a separate being. In the east, they are mostly concerned with the spark of Divinity within. The truth is, both are equally important. God is everywhere and in all things. There is also a spark of Divinity within you and within everyone you meet.

If you treat your own body as a temple, healing the emotional wounds and distortions you hold about things, your relationship with the inner and outer forms of Divinity will improve.

A time does come when you are in total flow. You have fine tuned your intuition and cleared your distortions to such a degree that you know what to say, where to be, and what to do in every moment. It is your Divine birthright to be in this Divine flow with the universe. However, someone can’t “fix” you and get you there. You can have all sorts of assistance. But there are many aspects to the spiritual evolutionary journey that are up to you. You will absolutely be required to forgive people you have not forgiven, do things you are uncomfortable with doing, and have conversations you are not comfortable having. Growth requires change and change is often uncomfortable.

The results are miraculous though – so the discomfort is definitely worth it.

There are those who spontaneously awaken to their spiritual gifts or take a class that turn on certain skills. They might suddenly have visions or be able to read things psychically or facilitate healing. This sudden awakening, without preparation, emotional healing, or energetic clearing often results in arrogance and distortion. I’ve seen so many readers and healers that fall into this category. You don’t want to be one of them.

Clear your space. Clear your mind, emotions and body. Become a pure vessel, a clear vessel, a pristine space where Divinity dwells. If you feel shame, blame, or victimhood, have not forgiven someone, feel hatred, judgment, and prejudice against others, then you have a lot of emotional work to do. That is what Dancing Dolphin Sacred Healing Oils & Mists are for. Let them hold you in a safe, high vibrational space that make healing easier on all levels.

Many blessings to you and your spiritual journey,

Achieving Your Creative Potential by following the Ebb and Flow of the Universe

Entrepreneurs, authors, and others needing to be at the peak of creativity in order to achieve success will enjoy my insights below.

Being a bestselling author, I am part of several author’s groups on Facebook. When I read people discussing how they force themselves to sit down at a certain time and write so many words each day, I think, “WOW, if I had to force myself to write – especially a certain amount of words – then I would definitely not be a writer.”

I love water and I consider creativity very much like water and the ebb and flow like the tide. When the tide is in, it comes with full force and I may do nothing but write, rarely even eating, for days on end. I have literally written a whole book in 2 or 3 days.

Then it ebbs, the tide goes out, the ideas percolate in the background, in the subconscious, out in the Universe somewhere rearranging themselves, weaving with other things, until they come back in on another wave – at which time I may bring in another chapter or two or ten.

That is the way of my writing and all of my creative pursuits – be they books, training programs I’m developing, or marketing materials.

When its time, the words pour forth effortlessly. A second sooner, if I try to force it, the words are both not from the right “place” and not the right words. In Divine timing, and in the perfect number, they come. That is how I write. I invite you to find the courage to do the same with your writing and all creative endeavors.

All of nature has a rhythm:

  • The turning of the earth about its axis
  • the transformation of night to day back to night again
  • the cycles of birth, growth, harvest, death, and rebirth
  • the seasons
  • a woman’s cycles – when in tune its with the moon

When you get in sync with the earth through time in nature, in quiet inner reflection, in meditation, and align with the Divine, the flow of inspiration comes faster and with much less effort.

The higher you climb in consciousness, the easier goals are to achieve and the less attached you are to them anyway. Ever evolving. Ever growing. Ever changing and transforming into a greater version of self. That is the journey towards the Magnificent U.

Have a deLightful day,

Takara – bestselling author, speaker, engineer, mystic

Spiritual Activism – It’s ALL about Love – A Sierra Essay and Vent

There was a time a few years ago when I struggled with the seeming paradox of “All Is Well” and “There is only Love” and speaking up for and taking action on the issues and things that are important to me. It felt like a tug between my spiritualism and my activism… if all is well, then why speak up? If all is well, what is there to do? I went through a period of keeping my head in the sand, not wanting to know or hear about any issues because “All Is Well.” I even gave up my nonprofit foundation working towards a protected marine area because I did not want to “push against” the commercial fishermen and after all, “All Is Well.”

But after a while I did not feel good at all keeping silent and keeping my head in the sand about things that are important to me. I felt like I was letting down my brothers and sisters, my family, my planet and not fulfilling my true divine purpose. I felt like I was taking a free ride on this planet. I wanted to enjoy it but not stand up for what I love because “All Is Well.”

And then I realized… Activism and speaking out keeps a balance. A very important Planetary and Universal balance. It IS all about Love. Speaking out about what I believe in COMES FROM LOVE. My love for this planet, for the animals, for humans, for future generations. Being a voice for the animals and the planet IS LOVE!!! Duh!!!

By taking my head out of the sand and keeping my eyes open, I know where to send the Love! How do bring bright light to the shadows if I refuse to look at them and continue to ignore them? I could have continued simply sending out a general love vibe… but I feel it is important, at least for me, to have focus and I know that I have more power when I am focused on something specific instead of just generally.

I am totally fine and have no judgment of people who want to keep their heads in the sand and not look at the issues and just send love to everything and everyone. They have their place in the balance, a VERY, VERY important place and I respect and honor them for their part in the perfect big picture. And I guarantee you, for every person out there sending love and do nothing more, two or more people TAKE ACTION, sign a petition, speak up, keep the balance, do the WORK of those sending love. How else do you think things get done? Love Creates. Action MAKES.

I also have no problem with the All is Well people as I was and STILL AM one. All IS well whether you take action or don’t take action. What I do take issue with is that some people use the “It’s all Love” and “All is Well” flags to judge those who ARE taking action and speaking out or use them as what I see as a lack of compassion and sometimes straight up laziness. I see some of them as having a condescending, holier than thou attitude because they seem to think that those taking action and speaking up are misguided and off the “All is Well Love Train” that they see themselves on. I have my evidence…

And I will never forget a thread on a forum of one of the most popular channelers around. Someone asked, “If you saw a woman drowning, would you save her?” I was completely appalled at how many people said they wouldn’t help her because she “attracted it” and it wasn’t their place to get involved. And I thought, but maybe she attracted YOU being there to save her! I found myself moving away from many in the Law of Attraction community because it felt, to me, that using the whole “they/you attracted it” allowed for a lack of common sense and compassion and a will to help others and our environment.

I experienced this first hand when I had a major health issue while on a dolphin trip in Bimini a few years ago. I felt like I was having a heart attack and had all the physical symptoms. But instead of those around me helping me in the way that I needed, I was psycho-analyzed, told it was just in my mind, made to walk in the hot sun to run errands because “it was only energy” and I was “just making it up” and “all is well”, etc. and I literally felt like I was drowning until some kind and understanding person finally reached out and took ACTION to give me the PHYSICAL HELP and understanding that I needed at the time.

Once I was on steady physical ground, sure go ahead and psycho analyze me, tell me it is all in my mind, but holy shit, sometimes people need a physical hand, need physical action, just like our planet and the animals do. It was another major part of my awakening and pulling my head out of the sand and gave me a compassion for those injured and ill that I had lacked before. So, all was well in the end as it always is. I needed all that to happen to become who I am today. So thank you for the lack of compassion and understanding to enable it to come out in ME.

Now of course, the activism world, in my eyes, could be transformed too. (Told you this was a rant!) So many people fight for what they DON’T want, instead of focusing on what they DO want. So many petitions are against this, fight that, stop this, end that instead of I AM FOR THIS, I WANT THAT. And so many activists work from a place fear and hate. The name calling and insults and time spent working AGAINST others makes me cringe and back away from many issues, at least the way they are presented. Some of the things said in some of the groups of activists make my head spin with the hate and venom spewed forth. And does that help the dolphins and whales? NOT!

Admittedly, I often sign petitions against Monsanto because they are what are out there and I can’t say much about it unless I take the action to make a petition FOR non-GMO foods. You know, instead of complaining about what is, create what you want! But here is the thing about that… people don’t pay as much attention to FOR things as they do AGAINST things. People like a good fight, I am sorry, but it is true. It makes people feel alive. And if I look to nature, I watch the animals fight over territory, food, attention… could it be that conflict is part of nature? Part of the balance? DUH!!! But the thing about the animals is that they express themselves and then let it go. In five minutes they are preening each other again. People tend to hold on for dear life to their anger and conflict. We just have to learn to express, find the balance and let it go.

If we just all agree all the time, where is the growth, where is the refining of clarity, where is the expansion? Conflict/contrast is part of ALL THAT IS.

Sooooo, we are back once again to ALL IS WELL. The rest is our opinions and beliefs and desires. And here I am expressing MINE. I don’t expect you to agree… but you can if you feel inspired to.

I guess what I am really trying to stay is that I have finally OWNED my activism and have learned to blend it in with my spirituality. It is NOT one or the other. I am doing what I am called to do, feel compelled and inspired to do, cannot stop myself from doing. But not from a place of fear. I do it from a place of power. From a place of Love. From a place of we can transform anything with Love, Truth, Compassion and Positive Action. I do not ever again want to have my head in the sand. After all, what if Ghandi (who protested many times with fasting), Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, etc. said, “Oh, all is well, I think I will just Love this issue away in my meditations. Let me send some love and light and see what happens.”??? No, they stood up and took ACTION for what they believed in. But in a respectful, LOVE filled way and that is why they succeeded in their own way.

I can’t keep quiet about Monsanto and safe, organic foods or the murder and mistreatment of dolphins, whales and our ocean and a few other things that get me fired up to speak up about. I just can’t. I must speak up or wither away. I feel compelled and inspired and motivated to do so. Telling me to keep quiet about these things is like telling a mother not to stand up and speak up and protect her own children. For me it is the same.

Then there are the people who say to me, “But Sierra, what about the starving children and what about over population or what about this or that?” And I say, if that is what calls to you, then YOU get active about it!! It’s not that I don’t care about those or other issues. But I can’t be effective if I spread myself among too many things. So I have to go with what calls to ME the most. Go with what calls to YOU and THAT is what creates balance and change!!! See how that works? All In Balance. All Is Well.

It feels GOOD to stand up for and speak out for what you believe in. It makes us feel alive!

It’s ALL Love!

~ Spiritual Activist ~

Sierra is someone who truly lives her dreams. What Sierra wants, she manifests, whether it be convertibles, careers or cottages on the beach in Costa Rica. Sierra attributes her manifesting abilities to her knowledge and implementation of the Laws of the Universe. Sierra has learned to follow her inner guidance and intuition and take inspired action.

In addition to Sierra’s Costa Rican marine conservation foundation, Vida Marina, which was featured on the Animal Planet network, her lodge in Drake Bay, Costa Rica (which she has now closed because it was no longer bringing her joy), was featured on both the Travel and Fine Living channels. The day she closed the eco lodge, May 1, 2007, a film crew showed up to feature her new endeavor, a marine research and education center. Whatever Sierra decides to do, she does it big and the press seems to somehow find her. Could it be the Law of Attraction? Of course!

Yet all of Sierra’s accomplishments were darkened by a shadow that followed her everywhere: a poor body image. Like countless millions, Sierra struggled throughout her life with being overweight. But once she found the wisdom to use the Law of Attraction, a true miracle occurred, and within one year, Sierra had lost 170 pounds. That’s because instead of relying on ordinary diet modalities, which focus on excess body weight, goal-setting, calorie, fat and carb counting, Sierra took a different approach and began a self-loving program that included visualizing and thinking herself thin. Sierra has developed a large fan base from her Law of Attraction and Weight Loss website, has had a very positive world wide response to her e-book, Becoming Thin & the Law of Attraction; and was featured in the multimillion-circulation magazine Woman’s World.

Today, working part time from her home on Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula, and part time from San Diego, California, Sierra contributes to books, articles, websites, and interviews on weight loss, the law of attraction and dolphins and whales. Sierra also facilitates trips to swim with wild dolphins and whales in the Bimini Bahamas, Silver Bank Dominican Republic and trips to Costa Rica which combine the incredible sea life and rainforest life. She is also currently working on a coffee table book and other products featuring her amazing photos and videos of dolphins, whales and other nature beings.

Blogging and Social Media – Where Should You Be Spending Your Time? by Takara

TakaraBookCoverCompressedSm

My background is engineering. I’ve worked on computers since 1985. I put up my first website in about 1995. I have several websites and blogs. I got heavily involved in social media about 4 years ago and spend entirely too much time on Facebook.

After messing around with all these platforms over this length of time, becoming a bestselling author entirely through online means, and having thousands of website and blog visitors daily as well as thousands of newsletter subscribers, I have a few things to say about websites, blogs, and social media

Takara’s Online Tips:

1) if you are going to blog, then do only one.

2) If you are a writer and have more than 1 book, then I say brand yourself and have the name of the blog be your name and just do all your writing there.

3) The social media that will work best for you depends a lot on your area / niche / what you write about.

  • LinkedIn is for professionals, so if you write about topics related to business, it is THE place to be.
  • Facebook used to be a wonderful platform, but with the new algorithm, I like it less and less every day. You work your butt off to get fans to your page, and then they don’t all get to see your posts unless you pay to promote the post or put up stupid pictures that are cute or funny that people will share and like – that have nothing to do with your business or page or anything. Trying to pick clever things that people will like, share, and comment on is, I feel, taking things in the wrong direction.
  • Google+ is also another choice that I am seriously considering treating as another blog and maybe the main blog.
  • Pinterest is fun and lots of people are having great results in driving traffic to their websites/blogs using it. I mess around with it sometimes, but have only about 400 followers for my boards.

LinkedIn is better at pointing to your blog posts than Facebook. Google likes both LinkedIn and Google+ a lot.

Every now and then I Google my name (being sure to click the button that says “hide private results.”) Below you will find the results I got today when I performed that exercise. I have added comments beside each of the results. How these are listed tell you a lot about what is happening with Google’s algorithm right now.
I trust that by looking at the information below, it will help you and your business.

Lots of people say you must be on WordPress and Blogger isn’t the best choice. But here is one of several of my Blogger blogs showing up number 1 in search results for my name. Google owns Blogger by the way, so I KNOW its a great platform to use and its freaking simple. I always recommend blogger as the place to start for those new to blogging. Its easy to get going and you don’t have to be a computer whiz to have a good blog. There are lots of widgets you can add, so I still prefer it over wordpress although wordpress is growing on me. I don’t even post on this blog very often. Conclusion: Having the keyword in the title is still very important. Google loves blogger blogs.)

Sweat Lodges and James Arthur Ray

 whelan self-help guru

(Photo: Jack Kurtz, The Arizona Republic 2010 photo)

James Arthur Ray was released from prison after 3 people died in a sweat lodge during one of his programs.

I felt it was important to delve into the topic a bit more:

I was invited to a sweat lodge years ago by a dear friend. I truly didn’t “get” what I was about to experience. It was wild and extremely physically difficult. Later at a Stuart Wilde’s 8-day Warriors in the Mist event, I experienced another one. They were held at 4 a.m. and then you were taken up on a mountain for a vision quest. It was a powerful experience for me and the vision has shaped my life for a long time.

Then I married a shaman – at least people called him a shaman and came to see him if they felt they needed a shaman. I don’t think he ever called himself that. We had sweat lodges at our home and people from Europe and all over the world showed up on my doorstep to do Lodge with my husband, to connect with me, and the land in New Mexico.

I never did the lodges. I held space, facilitated sharing and conversation with participants after the lodge was over, even developed a product that helps people recover afterwards.

I wrote several articles talking about how to make the decision about participating or not participating. The shamanic path – with sweat lodges, vision quests, sun dances, etc. – are very physically intensive and demanding. It is a path, like all paths, that one is “called” to. Unless a person feels “called” to do a sweat lodge, they have no business being in one. It is not something to do because it seems interesting. It is something you know you are to do.

We had several Native Americans who came from various tribe and pueblo cultures. They all felt my former husband “poured a good lodge” and they each had a powerful personal experience while attending. We had a native guy that was very ill, practically on his death bed, who was brought down from Colorado who came specifically to “make his peace” before transitioning. He participated in the first 2 rounds of the lodge and sat in the house talking to me for the remaining 2. He felt very good for lifting his prayers in lodge that day.

I, being pisces, can leave my body and vision with no effort whatsoever. I don’t need drugs, or sweat lodges, or any of the other things people use to enter altered states – with the goal of receiving higher wisdom. I simply meditate, or listen to particular pieces of music, or sit by water. Heck, I can take a shower and be flooded with divine inspiration. But I am a long term meditator and I’ve been shown ways of doing things that are significantly more gentle, nurturing, and heart opening than what I consider to be the more masculine way – the harder, shamanic way.

That doesn’t mean its a bad path. Medicine wheels are amazing things. Being connected to nature, communing with guides or totems, honoring the ancestors and keepers of the land are all very important pieces of any spiritual path.  The other, more difficult, aspects of the path are perfect for those who are called to them and should be left alone by those who are not.

Sweat lodges are not for the faint of heart, the physically unhealthy, or anyone that is not “called” to that path. For those who are, powerful things can happen.

As with all things, go in with eyes wide open, fully aware and prepared for what you are about to experience.

In my book, Peering Through the Veil, I talk more about numerous forms of prayer and meditation, including sweat lodge.

Have a deLightful day,

Debbie Takara Shelor

Life, Liberty, the Pursuit of Happiness – Freedom From Tyranny

Freedom

As Americans have gone about celebrating the 4th of July and their liberty and independence from what they considered tyranny and British oppression, I am reminded of the many ways in which humans continue to struggle with freedom in its many forms.

The definition from Dictionary.com – lib·er·ty [lib-er-tee] – noun, plural lib·er·ties.

1. freedom from arbitrary or despotic government or control.
2. freedom from external or foreign rule; independence.

Living Outside the Box

Living outside the box is a very revolutionary idea and not an easy one to accomplish. Its something I’ve found myself working on a lot lately.

What do I mean when I say living outside the box?

I mean looking at what I perceive as my reality and taking off the box that I’ve placed around it so that it can be in its truth, not my perception of what truth is. Or it can transform into the reality I want to have versus the reality I currently perceive and perhaps don’t necessarily like all parts of. Wow, sounds a little out there.
