Amanda Palmer Sharing Trust and Learning the Art of Asking

I love this video.

I’ve watched it several times and it moves me each time. I offer it here as a gift to you:

Let it open your heart and your mind to infinite possibilities and to having the courage to do things that are uncomfortable. Amanda Palmer has taken it to such a deeper level than any of the rest of us dare.

Learning to trust that the Universe has your back and is paving the way for your dreams to be fulfilled is a quality, an attribute, a mindset, a skill that must be mastered.

Dare to live your dreams. Dare to realize that you are loved and perfect just the way you are.

You are enough!

Asking for help, and being open and willing to receive, are required to achieve those secret inner longings that you hold.

The Universe (God, the Divine, Creator, etc.) is ready and waiting to help you. You have to ask and you have to trust.

And … you have to believe deep down and on every level that you deserve the help. That is the challenge. That is the lesson. That is the spiritual journey that you are on whether you realize it or not.

Find your faith Dear One! Turn off the fear0based noise inside your head and let the still small voice (your intuition, deeper knowing, images, voices) speak to you, loving and supporting you all the while.

That’s what meditation is for. That is what dowsing is for. Meditation quietens the mind so the still small voice can be heard. Dowsing says to the Universe, “I am ready to receive.” Continued practice of each helps you stay in direct communication with your Higher Self, your I Am Presence, with God, all of the time.

If you are like me, photo images have become a way of life. We now add them to blog posts, our Facebook pages and other social media posts, and of course Pinterest. It is always better to use a unique image rather than something everyone else is posting. It’s so easy to take an image, add a few words, save it with a unique name and voila, you have a unique image. The sites I tend to visit often are indicated with a (Takara) in their description.

But where to get the images online?

You Are Never the Victim of Circumstances, You Are Always the Product of Your Own Choices

(The Circle opens with the sounds of the Tibetan bowls and the Tingsha bells.)

Allow the vibrations of the bowls and the bells to lift you up into the embrace of your Soul Journey, feeling deep within your Being the Bliss and Joy of your new Soul Journey, a Soul Journey that enables you to look at the panorama of your existence on the Earth Planet at this time, giving you an overview of all that is happening around you, within you, and feel the Bliss of your Soul moving to fill every aspect of your physical Being, every aspect of your emotional Being, every aspect of your mental Being.

Embrace the Love that you are, and see yourself clearly as a Being of Love, a Being of Light, a Being of Bliss.

Greetings Dear Hearts, I am Hilarion.  It is with great pleasure that I embrace the beautiful energy of this Circle tonight, and feel the Love and the Bliss within each one of you, coming together to create a Oneness of Love, a Oneness of Bliss which radiates forth across the Planet touching every Being, assisting to open Hearts that are ready to birth their own energies of Bliss and Love.

This is truly a magical time upon the Earth Planet – and for humanity as a whole – for this is a time of great change, and each and every one of you has done much work over recent times to prepare yourself for the shift into the new Dimensional frequencies –  but nothing happens immediately! it takes time for each one of you to let go of old programmes, of old belief systems, and each of you will do it at a different pace than another.  So never judge yourself against another, and never judge another against yourself.  Simply embrace ALL with a deep feeling of Love.

This is the essence of your Soul Journey, a journey of acceptance, a journey of opening to the beauty and the power of Love within you, and as you embrace that power within you, you see the world around you begin to change in colour and complexion, for Love spreads quickly to fill the Hearts of many.

Dear Hearts, you are never the victim of circumstances, but you are always the product of your own choices !

That statement may seem a little provocative, for I can hear each and every one of you immediately react and say “but so many things have happened to me in my life, in my many lives, that have been created by others”.

And on the surface, Dear Hearts, that is so, there are many times when ‘things happen’ in your life, but although you may not have initiated changes that take place in your life, you always have the choice of how you react to what happens in your life, and it is not the actual events that create your future.  It is how YOU choose to react to those events that create the reality of your life.

So think again upon that statement “you are never victims, for you always have choice”, and in the New Soul Dimension you choose to be Love, whatever happens or transpires around you in your life, you choose a Loving response, and as you choose the Loving response, you create a Loving environment.

So whatever the intentions of those who seek to create the change, it matters not.  Once YOU accept that YOU choose the life you wish to create.

We accept Dear Hearts that this can at times be difficult, for you are in a world where relationships occur and become extremely important in your lives, but all relationships of meaning originate with a choice of Love – Loving Energies.

You can choose to feel hurt, you can choose to feel pain, you can choose to feel anger, or you can choose to embrace yourself with the energies of Love – and as you do that you create Joy, where on the surface previously, you felt there was no Joy.

In this New Dimension, the old ways are no moreThe Soul Journey is about self-responsibility.  It is about accepting that YOU choose in every moment of your life what you create.

You can acknowledge that another person has created a situation that you need to handle; but they in creating that situation cannot dictate your choices of how you react.

So it is time as you face great changes upon your Planet and upon your relationships with others around you, it is time to accept and embrace personal responsibility for the choices you make.

So I repeat again “You are never the victim of circumstances.  You are only the product of the choices you make”.

Dear Hearts I leave you with that statement, and ask that you allow it to sit within your Heart until you accept and acknowledge the truth of it.

Get Happier! Simple Daily Actions to Increase Your Happiness

Isabel(c) Isobel Phillips

Once I’d learned that I could choose to be happy whatever was happening around me, it made me feel so much more powerful instead of a rather pathetic victim of whatever life happened to throw my way. My new-found strength didn’t last long though – the next “negative” event knocked me back. Not quite as far as before, but I realized that I hadn’t fully developed a habit of happiness. So that’s what I set out to do – to make happiness an inevitable result of actions I chose to take every day.

Attitude

A positive, happy attitude doesn’t “just happen”. It’s something we choose or not, consciously or not. At some point today you decided just how happy you were going to be – maybe when you dragged yourself out of bed this morning or when you were singing in the shower. Unless you consciously choose to be happy first, to feel good and look for things during your day that uplift you, you’re leaving your happiness to chance. And even worse, you’re leaving it in someone or something else’s power.

I think you’re worth more than that – don’t you? I know I am!

My day starts with the decision I make when I wake up, that this is going to be a great day. I run through the day in my mind, visualizing myself at my desk, out shopping, with friends – whatever I have planned. And I see myself smiling, relaxed, happy.

I’m not saying I never get knocked off course – but I aim to go back to the morning’s vision that this can be a good day and it’s up to me to make it so.

Appreciation

Not “gratitude” – that smacks of subservience to me. But an open-hearted, true appreciation of everything in my life. Yes, even the things I don’t like so much – they all serve a purpose. Every morning I sit with my first cup of coffee, if possible outside under the olive tree, and write as long a list as I can come up with of things to be thankful for. Some things repeat from day to day, others are one-offs or I suddenly become aware of them.

My list includes obvious things like my health, friends and relationships, the glorious blue sky I see almost every day and slightly less obviously, the stray cats who snooze contentedly in the sun even though they have no idea where their next meal is coming from. I count my blessings and I also count the things that I’m happy not to have in my life 🙂

I get extra points for actually telling people I care about that I appreciate and value them.

Structure

This probably seems odd coming from someone who almost has an anxiety attack at the thought of making an appointment! I hate being confined or tied down to a time and place but I’ve found that having a simple structure to my day helps me be more creative and focused.  And thanks to a brilliant article by Catherine Cain on The Intelligent Use of Constraints I now kind of understand why.

I have a spreadsheet with a list of items I want to do every day in the first column and 28 – 31 little boxes next to each one (one for each day of the month). The game is to put an X in every box. I don’t manage to fill all the boxes, but some do get the magic X every single day (writing is one of them) and I get a sense of purpose and a record of how I spend my time.

Friendz

I used to be a hermit. I lived almost entirely on-line and barely interacted with real people face-to-face. I’m still a happy loner but I’ve also learned the value of friends. All kinds of friends. Elderly ex-pats at a social club I help to run, friends I go out drinking and socializing with, friends I have deep, meaningful conversations with and friends I can sit with on the beach in a totally relaxed silence. And sometimes they’re all the same person!

My daily action is to make a point of speaking to at least one friend every day, even for a few minutes. It gets me out of my own head and reconnects me with the rest of the world.

Self Care

Something else I was never that good at. I had many days of internet burnout where I dozed in my office chair, played games all night and lived on burgers and sticky buns. My total lack of self care almost drove me to a nervous break-down and it was a major reason behind the “how I destroyed my business” collapse of my business.

Now self care is built into my day and my week. I have one full day off every week, when I do no work at all and get away from the computer as much as possible. Daily – I make sure I have my first cup of coffee in peace and quiet and in the garden if possible. I eat three times a day; not at fixed times but not at my desk either. In the summer (which means temperatures of up to 50C here) I get up very early, around 5:30, and take a nap in the middle of the day. I drink a lot of water – because it makes me more alert. And at least once an hour I get up and move around – usually the amount of water I drink makes that a necessity anyway 🙂

Stories

We all have them – the things we “know” are true about ourselves like “I’m no good at sports”, “I can’t spell”, “I’m no good at making friends”, “I’m a night owl”, “I’m always late”. They go on and on and on .. and they’re all lies!

We are whatever we choose to be. If we want to play a sport, we can practise and improve; if spelling is difficult, we can read more and make sure we have spell-check available. I used to say I was a night owl until I had to catch the 6:30am bus to London every day, or be hauled over the coals by the CEO who lived a 10 minute walk away.

It was part of my personality and a bit of a joke, I thought, that I was always late – until I started teaching. If I didn’t get to college 15 minutes before the start of my first class, I was totally unprepared to take the lesson – and when you teach teenagers, that’s not something you can afford to be. If I was late getting to a class, I walked into a riot. So I learned to get up early and be on time.

Beliefs are just stories we tell ourselves over and over again, until we believe them. The only power they have over us is that we believe them – they’re not “real”.

One of my daily rituals is to choose a belief or a story and deliberate “destroy” (or destory) it in my mind. Sometimes even physically, by writing it on a piece of paper and burning it. The “night owl” and the “always late” stories died a long time ago, but I still have a few hanging around.

Other times I might use affirmations that are the opposite of the unwanted story I’m telling and that’s what I’ve been doing with one of the more enduring ones: “I’m not good with money” became “I love money and it serves me well”.  So far in the last 6 months I’ve paid for a trip back to the UK for my nephew’s wedding and bought a new laptop, so the old story has taken a bit of a beating 🙂

How do you create the kind of day that you want? I’m always looking for new ways to support my choice to be happy 🙂

Isobel used to have a 4-hour daily commute to a high-powered job she hated and come home to an empty life. Now she lives in a beautiful villa overlooking the Red Sea, has a social life she can barely keep up with, works as and when she wants and is in a wonderful relationship with the love of her life. At age 50, she created a vision for her life and then she became it. She would love you to join her in stepping into the vision you have for your life. She also believes that life should be fun. With humor and understanding she shows you how, by combining small changes in your daily routine with a little secret sauce, your dream life is much, much closer than you think!

Intent… what is all the buzz on “intent” anyway?

diane mickelson(c) Diane Mickelson

First of all we need to get on the same page…. What is the heck is intent anyway? Intent is the planning and desire to perform an act; it is something that is an aim or purpose; it is firmly fixed, concentrated, having the attention applied, engrossed; it is having the mind and will focused on a specific purpose. As a noun intent has an anticipated outcome that is intended or that guides your planned actions, “his intent was to provide a new translation”, “good intentions are not enough”. Some adjectives of intent are: absorbed, focused, fixed, earnest, committed, concentrated, occupied, intense, fascinated, steady, alert, attentive, watchful, etc.

How do you “do” intent? It depends on what you feel is right for you. Sometimes I hold an intention so close to my heart that I think I emit this desperate vibration of lack so when I let it go in a Buddhist way of detaching from it, or lose the neediness of craving for it, it comes much easier. (Perhaps – trying too hard, huh?) But on the other hand if it is with me all day long as a given, it does speed the process along. In any way the feeling of certainty that it is already there for you – is the one “thought” you are looking for. When you know you are getting it 100%. You do not question or manage how or when, sometimes the universe has its little jokes on how you are presented what you want, but a sense of humor is never an unwanted trait. Chose what feels good for you. Experiment. See what happens…

This all seems simple and unrealistic, doesn’t it? The truth of the matter is that you can have anything that you want by simply intending to have it. Let’s start with the basics of using the intending technique, and learn why it is so powerful

Anything that you ever do in the world, at least while you are conscious, is done by you first intending to do that thing. Human beings are creatures with complete control over our bodies and we decide what happens and what doesn’t. Obviously and thankfully, this does not apply to things like breathing, controlling the operation of our internal organs, and other autonomic processes.

For now, let’s just agree that if we decide to stand up, sit down, write a letter, drink a beverage, go for a bike ride, buy a cup of coffee, eat a pizza, take a nap, etc. that all of these things would be done because we made a conscious decision to do them – we intended for them to happen.

Pretty easy to follow, huh? So if one can intend to do pretty much anything that we can imagine, and successfully pull it off, why aren’t we rich? Why don’t we intend to have perfect health? Why don’t we intend to have a satisfying personal life? Well, we can. But since we haven’t seen this amazing power of intention do anything other than allow us to control our day to day life; we have trouble believing that it is capable of so much more than that. That is the trouble, we don’t believe it, and so we can’t see it in our mind’s eye that anything is possible by simply intending for it to happen. So if that is the case, perhaps we need to train ourselves to believe in the power of intention by practicing it. We are already very good at this, so let’s take it to another level.

So let’s pick seven things that we know with 100% confidence that we can do, but we don’t already do on a consistent basis. Here are a few examples, although you all should be able to come up with the ideas that are appropriate to your own situation. Also, these should be things that can be done over short-term…one day. The idea here is to train yourself to believe that you can wield this incredible power of intention.

I intend to leave the house at a specific time today and not early or late. I intend to have a smile for each person I see today. I intend to stay caught up on my email all day today. I intend to get outside for at least 30 minutes today to get some fresh air. I intend to think about something that makes me happy during my walk today. I intend to show gratitude to Loren and my kids today. I intend to get to bed by 11 tonight and get at least 5 hours of sleep. See, all intentions… are you starting to see the point of this exercise? None of these things are very difficult, and none of them are very time consuming. In fact, most of them will not take much time at all. However, each of them represent something that I normally don’t accomplish on a consistent basis…

Forget for a moment the positive impact that actually doing those things will have on me, the point of the exercise is for me to intend for all of those things to happen and then to follow through with that intention. By doing so, I have proven to myself that I have the power, with little or no time expenditure to do things that I otherwise may have put off. By intending to do those things, and then following through on that intention, I have started to develop confidence in my abilities to control my life and to make things happen simply by intending for them to happen and then doing them.

Now that training is over, let’s move onto something bigger. Intend to not raise your voice at home for 5 days straight. Intend to watch 30 minutes less of TV for those same 5 days. Intend to get up 10 minutes earlier for each of those 5 days. Intend to compliment someone for 5 days in a row. Intend to drink 1 cup less of coffee (soda, etc) each of those 5 days. Now assess what you have accomplished in just 5 days. Between getting up only marginally earlier and by just partially limiting your TV time, you have added 200 minutes to your life that you can do whatever you want to do with. You have become a more pleasant person to be around at home. You friends and family love all the compliments that you have been showering them with. You have eliminated 5 cups of caffeine from your diet. You accomplished all of that in just 5 days!!! If you can do all of that in just 5 days, imagine what you can do by using the power of intention to gain wealth, overcome personal limitations or simply enjoy your life to the fullest. Practice it every day, every week, every month, and every year. You can literally accomplish anything that you can imagine by simply intending for it to happen. The power is limitless, as is what you intend to do with it. It all starts with intention… followed by the “do” part. Intention without the “do” is nothing….

By the way, just a few minutes ago, you intended to read this, now look what you did… you followed through with the “do”…. good for you. Now I intend to get that 1 cup of coffee I planned for today. Thanks for joining in…. what do you intend? Oh, by the way, let’s try our hardest not to spoil the word intend by making it into a kleenex word… over-using it to the point that it has no meaning… right now it is an extremely powerful word – intent… I like the way it rolls off my tongue… now for coffee….
